Ticino: Increase of up to CHF 80 on Health Insurance Premiums in 2025

The year 2025 will bring another bitter inflation for Ticino, with a 10.5% increase in health insurance premiums confirmed by the Federal Council. This is the third consecutive increase, and once again, Ticino finds itself the hardest hit canton, surpassing even Jura and Glarus.
Federal Councilor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider explained that the increase is due to rising healthcare costs (+4.1%) and inflation. Higher consumption of care and drugs, as well as demographic and geographic costs, are the main factors weighing heavily. Despite the seriousness of the situation, no specific compensation is planned for Ticino.
Now more than ever is the time to do a careful analysis of health care costs to assess which coverage is the least expensive. Fortunately, CMO - Health Insurance Online works with some of the most affordable companies.
