New deputy director and health policy manager for Curafutura
Bern, April 11, 2024 - An important handover takes place at the top of Curafutura, the association of health insurers, with the announcement of 41-year-old Marco Romano from Ticino as the new Deputy Director and Head of Health Policy. Romano will take over from Sandra Laubscher effective June 1, 2024, while Laubscher will take over as head of the Swiss University Medicine Association (Unimedsuisse).
Marco Romano's career is full of significant experiences. A graduate in political and social sciences, he served as a national councilor from 2011 to 2023, also chairing the Commission of Political Institutions. In addition to his political involvement, Romano has solid experience in private business, working throughout Switzerland.
Enterprising and determined, Romano is enthusiastic about the new challenge and the contribution he can make to the development of the Swiss health care system. His goal is to overcome the current challenges and find the best solutions for the insured, working in collaboration with other actors in the sector.
The handover sees Romano taking over from Sandra Laubscher, who will be director of the Swiss University Medicine Association. Pius Zängerle, on behalf of Curafutura and its members, thanks Laubscher for her steady and determined work and wishes her the best in her new professional challenge.
With this appointment, Curafutura is preparing for a new chapter under the leadership of Marco Romano, with the goal of continuing to better serve policyholders and meet challenges in healthcare.
